The Beginning, When It Ends

Right now, at this moment, Griffith doesn't look in the least bit like the commander of thousands. He doesn't even look like the leader of a mercenary group. Blinking, eyes wide, he looks like nothing more than a boy. And Guts can picture him sitting on his throne, crown on his head, regal and beautiful and laughing like a child. ...that may well be something about him that will never change. But that red egg's eyes are open, and they're looking out from between Griffith's fingers.
